Introduction
The Walker Edison loft bed (branded Millennium at Wayfair) features a clean-lined metal frame for a contemporary feel. Nothing fancy. Function over form, you could say.
At 68 inches it as actually a bit lower than other twin metal lofts in this class, but some of that comes at the expense of the guardrail. The under bed clearance is a solid 54.5 inches.
Looking at the image below, the guardrail height appears to be 11.5 inches high. This is somewhat on the low side, as it allows you to fit the bed with a mattress no more than 6 inches thick.
The manufacturers states in the user manual that the mattress must not exceed thickness of 7 inches, though. So, which is it? Well, if we take that guardrail height measurement at face value, 7 inches would mean a violation of the safety guidelines. However, since that measurement (11.5”) seems to actually represent the distance between the top of the guardrail and the top of the side rail, and the mattress slats are clearly not mounted flush with the side rail, there is a possibility that we could find an additional half inch in this area. Which would make the guardrail 12 inches high, actually, and the use of a 7 inch mattress would be legitimate.
All that said, if I were you I’d still go with a 6 inch mattress. Just to be on the safe side.

The bed is equipped with two ladders, one at the headboard, one at the footboard. The ladders are integrated into the bed frame and feature relatively wide rungs that don’t look too uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the rungs (as far as I can see in the pictures) are not grooved. Some anti-slip measures would have been nice.
The integrated ladder solution has its advantages and its drawbacks. The advantages are, they are well secured and don’t take up any additional room. The disadvantage is the ladder’s vertical placement, which makes it a bit harder to climb. But, at least the guardrail has two openings that allow easier access to the loft. Not all loft beds offer that curtesy.
Walker Edison Bentley Metal Loft Bed has a specified weight capacity of 200 lbs. Which is, you know, okay-ish. Nothing to write home about, but for the intended purposes (housing a single kid) it’s fine.
The product is available in two finishes. White, and the unusual and interesting mint.

What Users Say
At the time of this writing this lofted bed has accrued over 700 ratings on Amazon, with an average rating of 4.6 stars. At Wayfair, there were close to 500 ratings with the average of 4.7 stars. So we have a reasonably popular item here with excellent ratings.
The Pros
Looking at the customer ratings by feature, what buyers seem to appreciate the most are sturdiness and value for money. And this shows in the comments. Expressions like ‘super sturdy’ ‘super solid’ and ‘super heavy’ are often used to describe buyers’ satisfaction with the bed’s build quality. Or, as one reviewer put it: ‘the loft hardly moves and doesn’t squeak at all.’ And is perfect for those kids that are just a little rough, another one chimed in.
There are plenty of comments on appearance as well. The bed is being called modern and beautiful and the mint color especially gets plenty of love.
Unsurprisingly, the flat ladder rungs get many a favorable mention for the comfort they offer to the feet.
The assembly is said to be not too difficult; you could say there is a consensus on that. Two persons are required for the job, though. There is a consensus on that too.
The Cons
Not much to report, really, other than some light dents and chipping paint. There were also some rusty pieces and damaged leg end caps which the buyer felt could have been avoided with better packaging.
And, oh yeah: some complaints about the assembly instructions and the actual assembly process as well. So I guess maybe the consensus on that was not that strong.
Bottom Line
If you are on the market for an inexpensive, good looking twin metal loft bed, the Bentley from Walker Edison certainly does not seem like a bad choice.
