Introduction
Here we have the full over full version of the Bedz King’s well rounded bunk bed line which includes beds of all sizes and configurations. The designers opted for a mission style design, a safe bet as these classic vertical slats never seem to go out of style.
The bed is just shy of 70 inches high, which is at the taller end of the scale for bunk beds. This means it’s necessary to consider the ceiling height in your room to make sure there is enough space
The image below suggests that the top bunk mattress foundation lies at the height of about 51 inches. Together with an 8 inch mattress this puts the person on the top bunk almost 60 inches up in the air. So that’s almost 5 feet. Since it is recommended that there should be at least 3 feet of space between the top of the bunk bed and the ceiling, that means any ceiling lower than 8 feet is a no go. Or at least it would probably feel a bit claustrophobic. Or result in some head bumps.

The higher than average height (or is it tallness?) comes along with one good thing: a decent amount of space on the bottom bunk. With an 8 inch mattress in place there should be about 30 inches of free space between the two bunks, enough to provide reasonable amount of comfort for even a bit taller person.
The guardrail height specification is not available anywhere that I could find, but: looking at the image above I think it’s pretty safe to conclude it measures at least 16 inches. Quarter of an inch this way or that it doesn’t matter, it is as tall as guardrails get and permits the use of a comfortable mattress. The manufacturer recommends up to 9 inches, but that’s for mattress and foundation combined. You should probably be safe with an 8 inch mattress or anything thinner.
The weight limit for the upper bunk is specified at 175 lbs and 200 for the lower bed. There are 14 wooden slats per bed which look like they could take bit more load than that, but I guess the manufacturer went a bit conservative here. Under promise and over deliver, must be their motto.
The built-in staircase is 25 inches wide. That’s wide and comfortable, but it comes at the expense of taking quite a bit of additional space. Some other bunk beds with stairs I’ve seen are equipped with a more narrow staircase, their designers probably figuring it’s good enough for the kids plus it doesn’t take up too much space. All good points, but of course the drawers have to be considered too. The Bedz King bunk bed houses a big roomy drawer in each step and if the steps were narrower the drawers would not be nearly as roomy.
Speaking of drawers, there is a version of this bunk bed that comes with two even bigger ones under the bed, but more on that below. For now let’s just state that Bedz King beds come in 3 finishes: dark cherry, gray and white. You can check out the white one at the top of the page, and here are the other two.
Bedz King Full Bunk Bed With Under Bed Drawers

If you are a bit greedy when it comes to storage and four big drawers in the staircase is not enough for you, there is a version of this bunk bed with two even bigger drawers tucked underneath the bed. Dimensions: 11” H x 36.5” W x 23.5” D.
Bedz King Full Bunk Bed With Trundle Bed

If more sleeping space is more in line with your needs, there is of course a version of Bedz King full size bunk bed with trundle bed that rolls in and out from under the bed. The trundle bed can be either twin or full size.
What Users Say
At the time of this writing there was over 1000 reviews on this bunk bed at Wayfair alone (pertains to all configurations, not just full over full), with the average rating of 4.7 stars.
Build Quality: The large majority of reviewers found this bed to be very sturdy and well built. Good quality, great quality, excellent quality, very well made, well crafted, solid sturdy furniture — such praise is repeated over and again in user reviews. A few buyers took time to express their satisfaction with the product after years of use. Even the packaging has received compliments.
The complaints in this department have mostly to do with wood quality which some buyers feel is soft and dents easily. There are also some reports of cracked pieces, screws falling out (?), paint wearing off after months of use. Such reports are pretty rare, though.
Ease Of Assembly: I was surprised not to see more complaints in this department. I mean, this is a pretty complex piece of furniture, just the fact that it arrives in 6 boxes should have a daunting effect. But, no. In fact, the consensus seems to be that the bed is relatively easy to assemble. It does take a few hours, even for two people, but the instructions are reportedly easy to follow.
Design: It took some effort to find a user who was not completely satisfied with the appearance of this bunk bed, but I did track down one who did not like that the connecting hardware is exposed. But even she admitted the bed was ‘very pretty.’
Bottom Line
If you are looking for a full over full bunk bed with stairs this one is hard to beat. Looks good, has good reviews, comes with plenty of storage. Definitely deserves to go on your shortlist.
