Introduction
This is the twin over full version of the Ahmia bunk bed with stairs I already reviewed.
To sum it up succinctly: the bed is made of plantation-grown solid wood, a fact the manufacturer likes to emphasize as it makes the product eco-friendly; it features a distressed finish achieved with a wire-brushing technique that brings out the wood’s inherent grain patterns for that rustic, farmhouse feel; it is very solidly built, featuring side rails that measure over 1 inch in thickness and 5 inches in width, which is another fact the manufacturer likes to emphasize. And with reason.
Note: the dimensions stated in the basic facts section above were taken from the image below. They differ somewhat to the dimensions specified on the sellers page; of specific concern might be the length of the bed which, on the seller’s page, is specced to be 103 inches as opposed to 101 inches as depicted in the image. If you have a situation in your room where those two dubious inches might present a problem, please contact the seller for clarification.

On this particular bunk bed the expansion of the lower bed to the full size was achieved by adding an extension, as is evident from the image below. Note the silver metal plate with four screws used to attach the extension to the main frame.

The mattress slats had naturally to be elongated, and to counter the loss of load capacity the manufacturer added a perpendicular beam (1.5″ x 2.5″) running lengthwise in the middle of the bed, which is additionally supported with two legs. With all this support you’d think they would increase the declared weight capacity for the lower bunk, but no: it is still the same 350 lbs.
As is the case with the twin version, the Ahmia twin over full bunk bed with stairs comes in two finishes: Slate and White Mist.
As mentioned, both finishes are distressed, meaning the beds were deliberately weathered to give them an aged appearance. You can get some idea how that looks from the images above: pinch and zoom or click (desktop, laptop) to enlarge.
The staircase on the twin/full bed is exactly the same as on the twin version, featuring 3 large storage drawers and a book shelf on the side.
Ahmia Twin Over Full Bunk Bed With Under Bed Drawers
For even more storage, a version of Ahmia bunk bed exists that adds a pair of rolling drawers 32 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 7 inches tall. There is again a mismatch between these figures (taken from the image below) and the specs on the product page which would have you believe the inner height of the drawer is 11 inches and the width 39 inches. The first is impossible, the second highly unlikely. It’s a bit of a mess, actually, but I think the measurements below are probably okay.

The link below will take you directly to the product page at Wayfair (the version with drawers) so you can check the current price.
