Introduction
The Tribeca Full-Size Low Loft Bed (branded Alique at Wayfair) is a simple, elegant, modern-looking piece of kids’ furniture. The slight elevation gives this bed a considerable cool factor while still making it viable to use even for somewhat smaller kids. In addition, the freed space underneath can be utilized for either play or storage. Or both.
The bed is crafted of 100% eco-friendly, plantation grown, solid pine wood the exact origin of which I have not been able to track down. However, seeing how some other bunk and loft beds from this brand are said to be made in Brazil, it is not too much of a stretch to conclude the wood is probably Brazilian pine. Not that it matters much.
The weight capacity for Tribeca Full Size Loft Bed is specified at 500 lbs, which is a respectable figure, higher than is the case with the majority of loft beds. Looking at the picture below it is pretty clear why. The bed comes with 14 solid wood slats that are further reinforced with two lengthwise rods. This manufacturer certainly does not skip on the mattress support.

The guardrail height comes in at 13.75″, which means you can fit the bed with an 8 inch mattress and still be in compliance with the safety regulations which state that the tops of the guardrails must be no less than 5 inches above the top of the mattress.
The ladder on this loft bed is clipped on vertically and features three nice wide rungs. It can be attached to either side of the bed.
The Tribeca low loft bed is available in five different finishes: gray, white, cappuccino, blue and pink.
What Users Say About Tribeca Low Loft Bed
At the time of this writing there were nearly 2300 ratings on this loft bed on Amazon alone, with an average rating coming in at 4.5 stars. At Wayfair there were almost 1600 reviews with the average of 4.6 stars. This bed is hugely popular.
The Pros
The bed is being praised for its quality, its sturdiness and high weight capacity. Durability is also high up there on the list of attributes. One user reported that her specimen has been through 3 kids in 4 years and still works great. Now that’s an endorsement.
The appearance of the bed is garnering praise too. It’s being labeled everything from a mere ‘nice looking’ via ‘super cute’ all the way up to ‘beautiful.’ One buyer even called it ‘absolutely gorgeous in person.’
The practical side is not being disregarded either. One user commented the bed gives lots of storage space without being too high. A few users pointed out that the loft bed is providing a great motivation for their young ones to sleep in their own bedrooms.
The assembly of this low loft bed shouldn’t be too difficult, at least if we’re to believe the reviewers. Some advise to use power tools, though, instead of the tiny wrench provided, unless you have a bunch of extra time to spare. Others say if you use the drill you will strip the screws. (Shrug) Pick your poison. Instructions are said to be well written and easy to follow. One reviewer even said (and sorry, but I had to laugh) that, despite some misalignment of pre-drilled holes, her alcoholic ex husband was still able to put it together fairly easily.
The Cons
And what of the negative opinions? With such an abundance of reviews there are, of course, a few. Some missing, damaged, broken pieces. Missing hardware. Pieces not fitting together. Parts broken after a few months use. One user stated the bed is too low if you’re looking to save space. Two buyers reported the mattress slats to be too short; and since you have to screw each slat into the bed frame, the wood may crack if the screw is too close to the edge.
Bottom Line
The Tribeca low loft bed looks great and is, by pretty much all accounts, very sturdy. It has amassed a huge amount of positive reviews. The mattress support is excellent. I feel like the bed deserves a special consideration just for that. And, maybe most important of all, the kids just love it. childrens’
