Lea Furniture ceased operations on December 31, 2014.
You might still be able to source some of their products second hand on eBay or possibly Amazon. Or locally.
Or, see my posts on wood frame bunks and wood lofts for viable alternatives.
The Lea Elite collections are not just called “Elite” because it sounds good and is highly marketable: according to the manufacturer, each piece of furniture from Elite Collections is made of higher quality materials, and the multiple step finishing process utilizes hand selected veneers in order to create a high luster finish that is generally found only on the very best furniture. Furthermore, all Elite bunk beds feature metal connectors for strength and durability; ladders and guardrails are attached with metal screws and metal-to-metal fasteners for more security; each slat fastens with a screw, providing additional strength and structural integrity.
There are five Elite collections, but not all of them feature bunk beds. A few words on the the most popular ones:
Elite Classics — features a clean, conventional design with heavy moldings and bases with broad pilasters. The finish is medium brown cherry color.
Elite Crossover — influenced by the American Country and Shaker styles, and finished with a darker burnished cherry color with lots of hand applied highlighting and accent.
Elite Expressions — a very contemporary line with simple design influences. The finish is a rich, “root beer” color with matched cherry veneers.
