Lea Furniture ceased operations on December 31, 2014.
You might still be able to source some of their products second hand on eBay or possibly Amazon. Or locally.
Or, see my posts on wood bunk beds and wood loft beds for viable alternatives.
According to the manufacturer, the Lea Industries Austin collection of bunk beds, loft beds and matching furniture is intended primarily for boys — although nowhere is written that you can’t get one of the enclosed products — say, the Austin low loft bed — to your daughter if she takes a fancy to it.
The Austin bunk beds are simple in design and sturdy in construction. They are recognizable first and foremost for the Medium Brown Oak Color finish, which, combined with the Antiqued Brass Colored Cup Pull hardware, adds a subtle but highly appealing rustic southwest touch to this collection.
As with all of Lea manufactured furniture, a special attention has been given to the quality of build and safety; posts are made of select solid hardwoods and joined by thick metal dowel pins to provide superior strength and stability of construction; screws and bolts are used to fasten everything, even bed slats; all components are properly spaced to prevent children from dangerous pinch-points and help protect from entanglement.
The Austin bunk and loft beds are available in multiple forms: from the basic twin over twin over the sprawling Tri-Bunk configuration to the smallest, but certainly not the least important, Austin low loft bed. Of course, we must not forget the matching furniture: bookcase, chests, hutch, nightstand, mirrors, dresser, TV cabinet, desk — with all this variety it really shouldn’t be difficult to put together a setup that will work for you and your child.
